In February of 2009, descendants of the native American Geronimo sued Skull and Bones for stealing the Apache leader’s remains. On the 100th anniversary of his death, Geronimo’s great-grandson Harlyn Geronimo filed a federal lawsuit against the notorious secret society. Geronimo said his family believes Skull and Bones members took some of the remains in 1918 from a burial plot in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and have displayed them in their New Haven clubhouse.
